Who Is Behind Coffee County for Responsible Growth?

A Facebook page is targeting local officials, pushing zoning positions, and telling you to follow the money — without telling you whose money it is or who's behind it.

There's a Facebook page called **Coffee County for Responsible Growth** that's been posting political commentary, targeting local officials, and pushing policy positions across our community. They've weighed in on zoning, development, and local elections.

No name. No face. No person willing to stand behind what they post.

Just a logo, a mission statement, and anonymous opinions dressed up as community advocacy.

The Double Standard Nobody Is Talking About

They recently posted this:

"Follow the money. It usually tells a clearer story than campaign slogans or promises ever will. One thing we always encourage people to do is look beyond the mailers, the speeches, and the yard signs and start looking at financial disclosures."

Good advice. So let's apply it.

Who funds Coffee County for Responsible Growth? Who do they answer to? We can't follow the money when we don't even know whose money it is. They're asking you to demand transparency from every elected official in this county while offering you exactly none of their own.

That's not advocacy. That's a double standard with a logo on it.

What Accountability Actually Looks Like

At Unfiltered with Berry, you know exactly who I am. My name is on every post. My face is on this page. When I'm wrong, you can call me out by name — and people do. That's the deal. That's what accountability looks like.

When a page has no name attached to it, you have to ask: **what are they hiding, and who benefits?**

Are they connected to a political campaign? A developer? A special interest with skin in the local game? We don't know. We can't know. That's the point of staying anonymous.

I'm not saying their positions are wrong. I'm saying the community deserves to know who is making the case before they take it seriously. Political influence without accountability isn't advocacy — it's a ghost operation.

A Direct Challenge

If you believe what you're posting, you shouldn't need a mask to post it. Come on the show. Put your name out there. I'll treat you fairly — but I won't pretend you don't exist.

And if they won't tell you who they are, you should probably ask yourself why before you share their next post.
