The Photo She's Using Tells a Different Story Than She Thinks

Jenny Anthony is circulating a two-year-old photo of staff members who have since quit, been fired, or spoken against her. She was there one year out of three. That's not a record. That's a reconstruction.

Jenny Anthony wants you to look at a photo. Smiling faces. Her staff. A community fundraiser banner. One big happy office.

She's been circulating it ahead of May 5th like it's evidence of something.

It is. Just not what she thinks.

One Year Out of Three

That photo is two years old. And photos from the year before it and three years before it show Anthony wasn't there. She showed up once. Once. Then she built her closing campaign argument around it.

That's not community involvement. That's showing up for a photo and calling it a record.

The People in That Photo

Here's the part that should make voters stop and look again.

A significant number of the people standing next to her in that image no longer work for her. Some quit. Some were pushed out. Some have spoken against her reelection. She is using them -- their faces, their presence, their smiles -- to sell voters on a version of her office that no longer exists.

That office is gone. Those people left. And she's waving the photo around like nothing happened.

The Circuit Court Clerk's office has had serious staff turnover under Anthony's watch. That's the record. That's what the last several years actually looked like. She doesn't want to talk about that, so she's handing you a two-year-old image and hoping you don't ask any questions.

She Hasn't Answered Any

Anthony has not responded to on-record media outreach from Unfiltered with Berry. Not once.

Kelsie Parks Adams, her challenger, did. She sat down and answered questions.

Voters go to the polls May 5th. What Anthony is handing them is a fabricated snapshot -- departed staff, a one-time appearance, packaged as proof that her office is healthy and she deserves another term.

It isn't. And she doesn't get to use people who walked away from her to argue otherwise.

The photo looks fine. The office it's supposed to represent doesn't exist anymore.
